Notes &
I’m not a big fan of New Years Resolutions. There shouldn’t be one day a year that you try to make adjustments in your life to live better. That’s something you should be doing every day based on personal reflection and circumstance. But I can’t help but get in the spirit when majority of the country is talking about resolutions.
I’ve been thinking about my past year all morning. The good. The bad. What worked. What didn’t. What I’m happy about and what I need to get better at. While walking back from a glorious meat filled brunch with friends, I couldn’t shake the phrase:
Lean into the discomfort.
It seems appropriate. While talking to a friend the other day, I said that life isn’t about comfort. Or at least growth and change don’t come about from comfort. And continual growth is something I whole heartedly believe in. Last year wasn’t all comfort for me. I’ve been doing a fairly good job of pushing myself and being outside of my comfort zone. But I can always do better at taking chances and not taking the safe route. And now is as good a time as any to make sure of that.
