Is it weird that I still really like this quote and think of it often?
If you didn’t have the fantasy, the reality would be just fine.

I just got a haircut. The first in 5 months. I understand that most people are super opinionated, especially about things like their hair, but why must I be the one to tell the barber/stylist what to do? They are the professional, not me. I’m not the one that has to look at me on a regular basis. As long as my hair is easy to manage (no product, quick to deal with in the morning), I’m...

I’m not a big fan of New Years Resolutions. There shouldn’t be one day a year that you try to make adjustments in your life to live better. That’s something you should be doing every day based on personal reflection and circumstance. But I can’t help but get in the spirit when majority of the country is talking about resolutions.
I’ve been thinking about my past year...

Books I Finished in 2011
I didn’t exactly stick to the one book a month timeline, but I was able to get in at least 12 this year, so I’m happy. I also attempted to tackle some pretty lengthy and non conventional books as well (the programming/tech ones and 4 hour body), which helped account for spanning multiple months. I definitely wish I had read more, but this year was kind of crazy so not much I could do....

My Top 5 Songs for 2011
Gotye - Somebody That I Used To Know
Robyn - Call Your Girlfriend
Adele - Rolling in the Deep
The Head and the Heart - Down in the Valley
Manchester Orchestra - Virgin
BONUS: Bon Iver - Holocene
At first I was kind of shocked at my how mainstream my favorite songs of this year have been. But then I realized that the top 3 aren’t really songs that I even listened to that much. I...

My Top 10 Albums for 2011
I think I’ve finally got the list in order. I’m a little disappointed in this year’s list, as I only had about 17 albums to choose from. And my top 3 were fairly obvious. But c’est la vie. So without further adieu:
Bon Iver - Bon Iver
Drew Barefoot - Forrest Creatures*
Dangerous Summer - War Paint
New Found Glory - Radiosurgery
Hellogoodbye - Would It Kill You?

All the Single Ladies →
It’s a bit long, but worth the read. At least the first couple pages. Deals just as much with how things have changed for men as it has for women. More about the current state of the society we now live in and how it has effected relationships and expectations for all of us.
